The following activities may be offered in the Spring and are
free of charge for our guests. All activities are subject to availability and weather
conditions. Activities rotate, and therefore a specific activity
may not be available on a given day. More activities are
offered during the holidays to accommodate the number of
guests.
Children's
Program
We have daily programming for children ages 5 to 12 years old.
Older children are welcome and younger children may join with an
adult to supervise them. Programs are developed by our talented
counselors to fit the size and age range of the group, and
include both indoor and outdoor play.
Canoeing
Glide around lovely Lake Homavalo in a canoe! With
adult supervision from the shore, children age 13 and up may
take out canoes. Children under 13 must be accompanied by an
adult on the canoe. Life jackets are required for all boaters.
Tennis
Montecito Sequoia Lodge offers 2 tennis courts for guest use.
Tennis is one of
our Do-It-Yourself Activities. Grab a friend and head to the
courts– you’ll find tennis rackets and balls, and a court
surrounded by our natural pine forest.
Archery
“Sight method” is taught, and archers of all abilities
enjoy our four staggered targets. Field archery and novelty
shoots are also offered. Ages 7 and up may enjoy archery when it
is scheduled. Ages 5 and 6 may attend with a parent.
Riflery
Our instructors will teach adults and children (9 years old and
up) to handle a firearm safely, correctly and accurately.
Arts &
Crafts
Indulge your creative spirit! Learn how to tie-dye, paint
t-shirts, macramé, scrapbook, make beaded jewelry, artificial
flowers, candles and more.
Guided Nature Hikes
Join a naturalist for a guided hike into the glorious Sierra
Nevada. Hikes range from easy to strenuous as chosen to fit the
group's needs. Beautiful scenery is guaranteed!
Rock Climbing
Our ten-foot vertical climbing wall will challenge all climbers,
from beginners to advanced. Let our skilled instructors teach
you climb successfully. Come enjoy a controlled climb set
against a majestic view of the Great Western Divide.
Relaxing
You won’t need an instructor for this! Unwind by the fireplace
with a good book, play a game of chess or checkers from our
cupboards full of board games, challenge a friend to a table
tennis match, lounge in our 10-jet outdoor hot tub, grab a drink
at the Pine Box Bar, take a hike.... There’s always something
to do at Montecito Sequoia Lodge!
